What We Believe

Rooted in Scripture. Sent into the world.

Parkview is a conservative, Bible-believing congregation affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Here is what anchors everything we do — from a Sunday sermon to a mission flight into Haiti.

To be a community of Christ-followers, doing life together.

Together, we long to be an effective, mission-minded, evangelistic lighthouse to our community in the unique corner of Fort Pierce God has entrusted to us. That calls us to be a vibrant family of faith for every age and background — welcoming to anyone in our neighborhood, our city, our county, and the wider Treasure Coast — marked by Holy-Spirit-led Gospel preaching, a rich diversity of worship old and new, and an intentional presence in the culture around us.

Reaching. Teaching. Ministering.

Our mission has not changed since fifty-one charter members organized this church in 1925: reaching our community and the nations with the Good News that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is for all who call on His name, teaching the whole counsel of Scripture to every generation, and ministering practically — in Fort Pierce and in rural Haiti — to the needs we find in front of us.

What shapes every decision we make

Jesus First, In Everything

Christ is preeminent over every ministry decision we make. (Colossians 1:17–18)

Sound Biblical Teaching

From the pulpit to small groups for adults, youth, and children. (Ephesians 4:12)

A Calling to Evangelism

A long-standing commitment to evangelism and community outreach. (Mark 16:15)

Biblically-Based Missions

A commitment to Gospel mission work at every level, local to global. (Matthew 28:19–20)

Partnership Over Competition

Working alongside other churches and ministries to share the Gospel effectively. (Ephesians 4:16)

Engaged, Inside and Out

Present in community events both inside and outside our church walls. (Matthew 5:14–16)

A Loving, Family Feel

A caring church where every member is known, not just counted. (Ephesians 6:7)

Ministry to the Vulnerable

Practical outreach to those in need in our community. (Matthew 25:37–40)

Christ-Honoring Worship

Music spanning traditional to contemporary, always pointing to Him. (Psalm 150)

What we believe, plainly stated

Parkview holds to the historic, conservative Baptist convictions summarized in the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). In brief:

The Scriptures

The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and sufficient Word of God — our final authority for faith and life.

God

One God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, perfect in holiness and worthy of all worship.

Mankind

Every person is made in God's image with inherent dignity, yet fallen through sin and in need of a Savior.

Salvation

Salvation is offered by God's grace alone, through faith alone in the finished work of Jesus Christ alone.

The Church

A local body of baptized believers, autonomous under Christ's headship, gathered for worship, discipleship, and mission.

Baptism & the Lord's Supper

Believer's baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper observed as symbolic acts of obedience and remembrance.

The Family

Marriage as the lifelong union of one man and one woman; the family as God's design for raising the next generation in the faith.

The Great Commission

Every believer is called to make disciples of all nations — the conviction behind our local and global mission work.

For the complete, detailed confession, we point members and guests to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention.

Denominational Affiliations

We don't do ministry alone. Parkview partners with a network of trusted Baptist institutions for training, missions, and accountability.
